management of conflict, aggression and violence in the North West. Our module based training can be delivered in two hour blocks up to eight day courses and benefits all public facing workers.

 

Modules include:

• The definition of workplace violence as given by The Health & Safety Executive

• Glynis M Breakwell’s Model of Conflict which allows staff to gain a practical understanding of the various levels of personal arousal which occur during the onset of agitation, aggression and/or violence

• The teaching and exploration of appropriate response options to each stage of the model. (Includes Welcoming Diversity, Risk Assessment, De-fusion and Active Listening Skills, Basic Self Protection Skills, Post Incident Security/ Support, Critical Incident De-Brief and Incident Reporting Modules)

• Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) and its usefulness with angry people

• The short & long term physiological/psychological effects of working in situations where conflict, aggression and violence can occur

• Both passive and dynamic pressurised training in the physical techniques of restraint/self defence

• Edge Weapon Awareness

• Personal threat assessment and personal risk management planning

• Risk assessment for violence
