We’re currently recruiting for a Male Senior Support Worker in Wrexham to provide person centred support for our service users in a supported living accommodation.

Our Support Workers perform exceptional value of care to the people we support in their own homes to live the lives they choose by supporting them with their everyday life. We are looking for Support Workers who are outgoing, have an enthusiastic and passionate approach to support.

The purpose of this role is to provide support to 3 individuals that live in their home with 24 hour support. Individuals have learning disabilities that require them to be supported by staff for aspects of their daily life. This includes practical and emotional support, assisting individuals to carry out everyday living tasks such as cooking, shopping to enable them to live safely and as independently as possible.

More specifically as Senior Staff you would be required to deal with staff rotas, supervisions and to make sure the person centred support is adhered at all times. Apart from that you will also be responsible for staff holiday requests and keep a holiday record for staff, to keep a training matrix up to date and inform staff and office when training is required, to keep on top of medication ordering and any other appointments our clients have.

  • Develop and maintain support plans and risk assessments
  • Manage a small team of staff with support of coordinator
  • Attend meetings with multi-disciplinary teams

Previous experience working with people with disabilities and challenging behaviour is desirable. Full time hours including days and evenings and every other weekend. The ideal candidate would also be a driver.

NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social care is required or Level 2 but must be willing to sign up for Level 3; we are open to passionate candidates who share the same commitment and values as ourselves. Full training is available and we will continuously provide the training and support you need to succeed and grow.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Take an active approach in the service users rehabilitation programs
  • Support with planning and organising daily/weekly and monthly activities
  • Promoting the service user’s independence
  • Working closely with other support staff
  • To identify and accurately communicate and record any observed changes
  • Support and assisting with personal care needs.
  • Administering Medication
