Supervised Contact

Just ONE were asked to provide contact support for seven children, removed from parent’s property and responsibility and placed with foster carers. Limited information was given due to circumstances and court involvement. The children were removed by the Police due to being at risk and therefore limited information has been obtained.

The children have been put at risk of abuse and neglect and both parents have learning difficulties.

The children have been put into three different foster families; contact support is for them to see their siblings and parents under a safe environment with staff who are trained in safeguarding children and young people. Wirral children’s social services contacted Just ONE due to not having staff to facilitate and provide supervised contact for the children.

All supervised contact needs were to be documented as all documentation was required by the Courts.

The Parents and children were very emotional during supervised visits and we had issues with foster carers arriving late to drop off and collect children. There were also concerns about children’s mental health and behaviours during supervised visits.

We provided extra support to the staff with 24/7 advice from management and co-ordinators. Staff were given training in safeguarding children and vulnerable adults, health & wellbeing and health & social care.

The children feel comfortable with our support staff and our support staff can provide all involved with the support required.
